Moet et Chandon was sold to Bernard Arnault owner of Louis Vuitton and other luxury labels in 1988. 1990 is the first vintage of the new chef de cave Richard Geoffroy who changed the style of the cuvee. 1990 is remarkable for its elegance in a warm year that produced ripest grapes since 1959 in Champagne. There is full bodied richness and good acidity as well. So it is pretty complete. It has the roasted, toasted flavours with exotic fruit and a richt palate that together make this the most popular prestige cuvee of champagne. The 1990 was launched at the end of 1999 on time for the millenium celebrations.
Richard Juhlin champagneclub.com 96(96) Very youthful and elegant with a typical Dom Pérignon sophistication. It will be a joy to follow the 88's and 90's mutual development. What a debut by Richard Geoffroy! Wonderfully roasted coffee aroma on magnum and elegant chablis lick on regular bottle. Great elegance right now. 96(96)
