Lanson Noble Cuvee 2005 - also labelled as Noble Champagne - is in a wonderful drinking window. The aroma of yellow plums, red apple, hazelnut, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and caramel emanates from the glass. The flavours of bread, apple, pear, walnuts and toast linger endlessly on the palate. Lanson champagnes can be particularly acidic when young. In the rather low-acid 2005 vintage, the absence of malolactic fermentation is probably the reason for the incredible freshness of Noble Cuvee. For all its harmony, it is a champagne that arouses emotion
Noble Cuvee or Noble Champagne - differs from the great Clos Lanson due to its longer ageing on the lees. The basis is 70% Chardonnay from the Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Le Mesnil and Oger vineyards. Added to this is 30% Pinot Noir from Verzenay.
