Delas are known for their approach of developing and marketing distinctive terroirs separately. The terroir in the Hermitage cru below the summit ridge certainly meets these criteria, but is still fairly new to the range. The collector's box offers the opportunity to get to know both Delas and this particular Hermitage. Even though these wines are highly rated by Wine Advocate et al, they do not fit the cliché of powerful, ripe Rhone wines. They are balanced, elegant and subtle.
