The Bollinger RD 2002 has wonderful aromas of red fruits, dried apricots, roasted almonds, quince, hazelnut, toast, ginger, candied orange and vanilla patisserie. It is a pinnacle of finesse, but will probably continue to develop positively. It was disgorged in May 2017 as extra brut. Compared to the Grande Annee 2002, which has intense fruit and mint aromas, it is even finer, silkier and more complex.


RD 2002 is a cuvée of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. As usual, the Pinot Noir characterises this RD with its full body and nutty aromas. The Chardonnay contributes lemon aromas.

Richard Juhlin 95 (94) champagneclub.com beautiful sophistication and youthful beauty. While there is a certain knot device and distinct but faint RD tones thowards mushroom, truffle and mineral saltiness. Blooming in the glass and not unlike a young RD 1975, so at some point will this wine breathe sweetest chocolate and nut symphony...
