2000 is a very good champagne year, which is actually now at its peak, so Krug 2000 is an exception. The 2000 vintage has body and charm but not the classic acidity structure of 1996, which is particularly pronounced in Krug. It is more comparable to 2002.

Richard Juhlin 96 champagneclub.com (tasting of the Krug reserve bottles in 12/2023) Prerelease !!! A very young and finely tuned wine that will take a long time before you lighten the cork. Currently extremely mineral driven and sea sprinkled. Iodine, iodine, oyster shells and a little fine breadiness in the aroma. Crispy clean and beautiful balanced taste. Impressive acid for the vintage and delightfully elegant.
Essi Avelan 95 essiavelan.com ( 2019 tasting of bottles released in 2015) This is one my favourite Krugs of the recent years in its macho richness and muscular structure. The stylish oaky note is finely integrated to the intense fireworks of aromas ranging from coffee and patisserie to vanilla, oriental spice and dried fruits. Sits beautifully on the reductive side, aging slowly. Never-ending, impressively concentrated finish full of succulent fruit. Great ageing potential but blooming already.
