Rare Champagne 2008

This has great concentration, a firm structure and a fabulous acidity. While this will last for decades, it needs at least another five years in the cellar before coming closes to its impressive potential. The nose is marked by torrefaction, smoke, gunpowder, strongly roasted, coffee and some apple and lemon. The palate is all structure and power but with little aromatic development even on the 2nd day after opening.
