This Pinot noir from old vines from the Grand Cru Ambonnay was vinified in new oak and has a zero dosage, which is not as obvious as it could be in the excellent ripe year 2018. The aromatic profile is very inviting: ripe yellow apples with nuances of fallen fruit, walnut, toasted bread, subtle hints of mushroom, forest earth and oak barrel spice are such fun that you want to pour the next glass immediately. This is not a lightweight. It has body and concentration. Richard Juhlin rates it 91.
