- A top Rosé from Aÿ Grand Cru Pinot Noir and the best vintage since 2012
- Cherry, strawberry, raspberry, mint, ginger, rosemary
- Superfine mousse & creamy palate
From Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Grand Cru village of Aÿ, Deutz produces one of the finest vintage rosés. The aromas range from cherries, strawberries and raspberries to wild flowers, ginger and rosemary. Compared to the white vintage, the Rosé has an added depth and and substance of old-vine Pinot Noir. 2019 marks the first truly great year since 2012, offering concentrated and structured Champagnes that, in this class, are best left to mature in the cellar for a few more years.
The Deutz Rosé 2019 owes its delicate copper hue to 9% still red wine from Aÿ, which harmoniously complements the yeasty, mineral Champagne elements with a fruity spiciness.
Although Pinot Noir forms the base, Deutz is distinguished by its elegance, finesse, and delicate minerality. The mousse is exceptionally fine and silky. Unlike Roederer, Deutz relies exclusively on stainless steel for vinification and maturation. As a result, the toasty aromas do not come from oak but from extended lees aging (autolysis), which imparts notes of toast, freshly ground coffee, and roasted hazelnuts and almonds to the Champagne.
