More aboutMoet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2016

Description

Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2016 is a clear success, particularly in this price range. The complex nose opens with notes of mirabelle plum, apple and quince, which combine harmoniously with subtle hints of toasted hazelnut, brioche, toast and gingerbread - a multi-layered, exciting bouquet.

On the palate, the Grand Vintage 2016 is creamy yet surprisingly fresh, with a much more precise structure than the softer 2015. It is already charming and accessible, but experience has taught us that the Grand Vintage has great potential for ageing..

Moët & Chandon consistently pursues the goal of creating champagnes that are enjoyable even at a young age - yet it is often underestimated how excellently a Grand Vintage can develop over the years. Compared to the Brut Impérial, the Grand Vintage is in a completely different league in terms of quality - not least because its production is around 90% smaller and can therefore draw on a particularly selective grape quality.

The house has also shown great foresight in the strategic takeover of smaller champagne houses with excellent sites: The vineyards became its own property and some brands were sold or withdrawn from the market. In addition to the prestige cuvée Dom Pérignon, the Grand Vintage also benefits significantly from these high-quality vineyards.
