- Exotic lush fruit and nougat aromas
- Blend of four great vintages
- Grand Cru Ambonnay from a top winemaker
Eric Rodez Cuvée des Grands Vintages has exotic lush aromas of pineapple, orange, gianduja, gingerbread, cocoa, lemon peel and roasted hazelnuts. Added to this are spicy wood notes from ageing in oak barrels. This champagne is full-bodied and concentrated, but also has a very dry, mineral freshness. Grands Vintages is now and will remain in its optimal drinking window for the next 10 years.
Grands Vintages is a cuvée made from the house's best vintages: 2018, 2013, 2012 and 2008. It is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Malolactic fermentation was prevented.
Eric Rodez worked in Burgundy in the late 1970s and early 1980s, where he learned about vinification in new oak. After learning the art of blending at Krug, he took over the family estate in its 8th generation with the poor 1984 vintage. The problems in the wet year of 1984 motivated him to learn about organic farming in Alsace. Today, his son Mikael runs the estate. If you like full-bodied, powerful, vinous champagnes with wood influence, you should definitely try Rodez Champagne.
