This champagne enjoys absolute cult status.

The Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises is an exclusive, rare cuvée made from 100% Pinot Noir from ungrafted, ungrafted old vines that have been spared the plagues of phylloxera. These vines are located in two small, walled vineyard parcels called Clos Saint-Jacques and Clos Chaudes Terres in Aÿ, which are specially protected and cared for by the House of Bollinger

Vieilles Vinges Francaises vintage 2008 already enjoys cult status. With 3000 bottles and comments such as Richard Juhlin's ‘an absolutely fantastic and shockingly intense world class wine’, this is no wonder.

It is a pure Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs cuvée, which is matured as Extra Brut with a very low dosage (approx. 4-6 g/litre). The champagnes are traditionally matured in old wooden barrels and aged for a long time on the lees (sometimes around 9 years), which gives them depth, complexity and a creamy texture. The style is powerful, deep and elegant with flavours of quince, apricot, brioche, croissant, nuts, fresh bread and floral notes.
