The 2012 vintage is a Grande Annee showing the classic contrast between concentration, a full body and mineral austerity and fresh acidity. With ambra, hazelnut and dried apricot the elements of microoxidation dominate the discreet apple fruit. There are also intense smoky, spicy pinot noir aromas. With six years on lees this has been released rather early. It is in a very fresh, mineral style and less oxidative than many vintages in the past. 2012 can be quite forward now, but we advize cellaring this.
