- Chardonnay Grand Cru mit Körper und Komplexität
- Gratien arbeitet auch heute noch im alten Krug Stil
The Alfred Gratien Blanc de Blancs Brut 2015 captivates with its aromatic clarity, mineral depth and lively acidity. It has aromas of fresh citrus fruits, white flowers, grapefruit, lemongrass, melon and brioche. The palate is mineral and elegant. It has aromas of yellow apples, brioche, almonds and lime blossom.
This Grand Cru Chardonnay Champagne from Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil, Chouilly and Cramant is a typical Alfred Gratien. The house works in a very traditional way, similar to how Krug worked 15 years ago. The wines are fermented with natural vineyard yeasts. Alfred Gratien does not use battonage or malolactic fermentation. This results in very natural aromas. The wines are then aged in used oak barrels. In this case, the Blanc de Blancs was aged on the lees for 5 years.
