De Sousa are known for their blanc de blancs but in this cuvee they use their best old vines grand cru pinot noirs from Ambonnay and Ay which make up half of the assemblage. The other half comes from younger chardonnay vines in Avize. Half of the base wines are vinified in oak barriques the other half in tank. The fruit is marked by pineapple, mango and lemon. It also has buttery notes and a hint of spicy oak.

Eric de Sousa has made the winery one of the flagships of Avize. Only Selosse and Agrapart have an even greater reputation. Eric has managed the winery since 1986 and converted it to organic cultivation. He died at the age of 59 in January 2023. Today, his son Valentin is responsible for the cellar. His sister Julie manages the work in the vineyards. Biodynamic cultivation is particularly close to her heart, and she sees an active soil life as a key to wine quality.  is a passion for Julie and she tries to develop it further. Charlotte is the eldest of this generation and takes care of sales, marketing and administration.
