The 2004 Grande Annee has the fruit of ripe yellow apple that is supported by marked walnut spice and clads a full palate that gives great pleasure in august 2020. It is one of the 2004s with the best, most lively acidity that together with the mineral tingle provides an impression of freshness and intensity that goes right to the long finish. Grande Annee 2004 develops well for days after opening. It becomes more complex and elegant. The lemon notes turn into orange zest and the walnut to white nougat. It is years from its peak and has excellent potential for ageing which is far from common in this delicious but forward vintage.
