Description
Red still wine from the famous Ay vineyard Cotes aux Enfants not only gives it its colour, but also aromas of cherry, redcurrant and blood orange, which are joined by hazelnut, nougat, tobacco and leather. Experience has shown that it takes a few years for the combination of sparkling and still wine to harmonise completely. In the meantime, it is perhaps less fine, but more intense and seductive than the white wine. 2015 is an exuberant year with a lot of power, but the cooler Verzenay and Avize sites, together with the 40% Chardonnay content, ensure freshness and balance.

Richard Juhlin champagneclub.com 95(93) Rich and lush fruity aroma of red apples, strawberries, orange and rhubarb with hints of red roses. Silky smooth and with a texture reminiscent of a top class Volnay. Here I also sense a piquant slightly smoky note coming in tow with the seductive fruit of strawberry and blood orange. If the white La Grande AnnĂ©e was gastronomically adapted, this rosĂ© is actually even more food compatible. The Bresse chicken that Björnstierne and I cooked for the duo was a perfect match already now for this extremely storable stable rosĂ© classic. Drink 2030–2040.
