Description
Delas Gigondas from Domaine les Reinages consists of 80 percent Grenache and 20 percent Syrah. With its fruit reminiscent of sour cherries and raspberries and its silky, lush palate, it is reminiscent of wines from the neighbouring terroir of Chateauneuf du Pape. But it also has earthier notes than are typical of Chateaneuf, which become stronger with ageing in the bottle over the years. There are also spicy notes of rosemary, cedar and leather. This exciting Grenache should mature in the cellar for a few more years.
Josh Raynolds vinous.com 92 Saturated ruby. Bright and focused on the nose, displaying ripe, red ruit, lavender and spice aromas. Juicy and open-knit, offering concentrated, appealingly sweet raspberry, cherry and candied licorice flavors that tighten up and become livelier as the wine opens up. Finishes long, smooth and juicy, with resonanting licorice, red berry notes and just a hint of dusty tannins.
