The 169th Edition is composed of 146 wines. The base year is 2013, and the oldest wine is a Chardonnay from Villers-Marmery. Cellar Master Julie Cavil reveals that the creamy and charming style of the 2013 vintage is strongly influenced by very old Meunier vines from Saint Gemme, dating back to the 2008 harvest. The blend consists of 43% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 22% Meunier.
The base wines are fermented in used oak barrels. The reserve wines are now stored in Alfa Laval stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is prevented. After six years of ageing on the lees, Grande Cuvée 169 was disgorged in January 2020 with a dosage of 6g/l.
