The oak toasting has been reduced, but the ageing time in barriques has been extended. It is even more concentrated than in 2019, but also has an ethereal finesse.

Neil Martin vinous.com 96-98& The 2020 Grands Echezeaux has a lovely bouquet with wild strawberry, cassis, wilted violets and touches of sous-bois. The palate is medium bodied with very fine tannins, extremely pure and velvety. There is enormous energy, and animation in this Grand Cru, sappiness that draws you back in for another sip. This is the best Grand Echezeaux that Maxime Cheurlin has crafted.
