- A powerful Chardonnay from new oak
- 2013 is as great as 2008 on the Côte de Blancs
The Caudalies is de Sousa's prestige Cuvee from very old Chardonnay vines in Avize and Le Mesnil. The fruit with hints of apricot, white peach, quince, honey and ginger biscuits has a very delicate vanilla-smoky wood note, which comes from the ageing of the base wines in new oak barrels. 2013 is another great year on the Cote de Blancs after 2008. At the moment, it impresses with power and concentration and a firm structure. It promises great things, but needs a few more years in the cellar.
