Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle 2015
The Rossignol brothers have finally been recognised for the many years in which they have upgraded the vineyards of this branch of the Trapet family and developed their own style in the cellar after much experimentation. On the one hand, this style preserves the flavour of Gevrey, which is always a little wilder than Vosne-Romanee or Chambolle-Musigny, its structure and body. On the other hand, Rossignol-Trapet wines are by no means highly extracted, but rather fine and polished.
Of the estate's Premier Crus, the Petite-Chapelle has more structure and comes closer to the Grand Crus than the Combottes and Cherbaudes. Unfortunately, prices have risen so much with the success that we no longer buy the current vintages.
