En Remilly is located on the other side of the Montrachet hill about 300 metres from its famous neighbour. Etienne Bachelet now runs his father's vineyard. His En 1er Cru En Remilly has a bouquet of delicate vanilla and smoky notes. It has structure and freshness on the palate. The fruit is fine and the palate is mineral and precise. Give it a little more time.
The Bachelet family has been based in Chassagne-Montracht for many generations. There are numerous wine estates with the Bachelet name. Unfortunately, Vincent Bachelet is not fortunate enough to own famous vineyards. Nor is he interested in self-promotion. He works according to the maxim that ultimately it is only the work in the vineyard and cellar that counts. The prices here are not too high either. If you have a little patience, you can buy a great white Burgundy at a fair price.
